There is a government run animal hospital in Sulaymaniya. It is located behind the Slemani Museum (on the direction to Chwarbakh area).
The hospital offers several services for different kinds of animals. Please keep in mind that the patients are mainly farm animals (poultry, cows, horse etc). I found that the doctors speak English, friendly, and care for the animals. However, the situation of the operation room is worrying :(

We took Ginger here to remove her stitches. Luckily, we brought a clean towel so we could cover the "operation table" with it.

If you want to do a serious surgery for your cats/ dogs, I don't really recommend this place (due to the situation of the "operation room"). However, I think that this is a good place for pets to get shots (vaccines, or small treatments), to prepare paper work to move them overseas.
